Now that you have a set of adjectives....

01

Essence of Inspiration

Take your adjectives and try to find a character trait from those words. Maybe some of them are already character traits.

02

Story Is Character

Start building a story around this protagonist. The story doesn’t have to be flushed out, but try to find your location, genre, and character arc.

03

Balancing and Motivating

You have to give your protagonist some flaws.  How does your character overcome these flaws? Why do they do this? What motivates your character? It’s fine if it changes throughout the story.

04

The Character Arc

Change is a sign of a dynamic character. Determine what your character wants at the beginning of your story, then find out what your character actually needs. I highly caution you from using the same thing as your characters want and need.

05

Their Larger Part

What is your character’s job/role in society? What are the traits of this job/role? What expectations does your character meet, and which do they not?
