Would you rather look at a list of common archetypes?

Some Advice:

1. Make your characters extraordinary- No one wants to read a story where the protagonist is a normal, boring person.

2. Make your characters exciting to you- If you don’t fall in love with your characters, no one will.

3. There is no mold for a protagonist- Often when constructing a story, writers will try to put their protagonists into a box. They’ll make them perfect heroes who are devoid of a unique personality, so that the reader can picture themselves in their shoes. DON’T DO THIS! Your protagonist is the heart of your story. If your protagonist can’t suffer, fail, or respond to situations in an interesting way, then no one will care about them.

4. Make choices- I don’t know isn’t an acceptable answer. Ever.
